UPCOMING/COMPLETED PROJECTS

Campground:  Upgrading power to provide 30 amp power to 8 sites, if funds permit, will develop a few more camping spots.

Internet:  The Village is partnering with Connect Mobility to bring fast reliable internet service to the Village Residents.  Internet Service.

Village Speed Limit:  Village Council decided to reduce the speed limit in the Village to 40km/hr. unless otherwise posted.  Signs have been ordered and will be changed when they arrive.

Residential Lots for Sale:   The residential lots in the new subdivision have been re-surveyed and made significantly larger for only $55,000.00.  Residential Lots Map 

Industrial Lots:  New industrial lots have been surveyed and subdivided with grant funding.  There are 14 new 1-acre parcels. Infrastructure installation is slated to begin in 2022.  Industrial Lots Map

2021 Infrastructure Project:  Replacement of the water and sewer on Broadway & Frederick is completed.

Memory Lane Picnic Shelter:  Completed in 2022 in time for Centennial.  Volunteers always welcome!

Cemetery:  Plots have been surveyed on both new and old sections.

VILLAGE REMINDERS

Dog Licenses:  Renewed your dog licenses!  Only two dogs are allowed per household.  Spayed/Neutered $20.00 and Non-spayed/Non-neutered $50.00

Volunteer Firefighters:  Looking to train new members as volunteer Firefighters and Emergency first responders.  Contact Fire Chief Mark Duguay or  Deputy Fire Chief Malcolm McKinnon.  Meetings on 1st  & 3rd Tuesday of the month, 7:30pm at the firehall.

Medical Equipment:  Wheelchairs, walkers & assorted medical supplies are available to be loaned out.  Please call the Village office.

Transfer Site Hours:  If you are not sure an item is allowed, please call during hours of operation #403-899-3476.  Open Monday, Wednesday & Saturday 9am to 5pm.  Closed on Stat Holidays.  https://wheatlandcounty.ca/locations/standard-waste-transfer-site/

Garbage Pick-up:  Commercial & Residential pick-up on Wednesday, Residential limit of 5 bags per household.  Have garbage out by 9am.  Public works will not pick up bags that are over 50 lbs., broken, or not tied.  The garbage truck is available for use.  Call the office and schedule a time.  Public works will drop off the truck and take it to the transfer site for you when done.

Keep the Village clean:  Use the many garbage cans provided around the Village, and Pet Owners, consider others using the greenspace.  You must clean up after your dogs when they are not on your property,

Broadleaf Weed Control:  The Village has a schedule for spraying in spring and fall.
